Storm surge costs Florida’s real estate market billions of dollars, on average, every year.

And no county in the state suffers more from such damages than Lee County.

A 2020 analysis found that Lee County loses $400 million in damages from storm surge.

Forecasts show that number will gradually increase to $600 million in 2050.

Lee County is home to Cape Coral, the country’s most at-risk city for flood damage.

This year, flooding poses a threat to every property in Cape Coral, according to Flood Factor.
